Youth Club Membership
Intent
The Youth Club gives teenagers of the community the opportunity to mentor younger members of the Samaj, develop leadership skills, serve and volunteer in the community and the Samaj, develop communication and teamwork skills in a guided environment, and build relations.
Age requirements
- Members: 12 to 18 years old
- Youth Committee / Youth Board: 15 to 18 years old
Membership requirements
Annual Family Membership OR Life Family Membership OR Youth Membership. Youth membership is $25 per year for a child whose parents are not members of the Gujarati Samaj.
Expectations
- Treat all young people and adults with respect — no bullying or abusive language.
- Be supportive of one another's ideas and work as a team.
- Communicate openly, debate healthily, and work together amicably.
- Be tolerant, respectful, and open to others' ideas; be compassionate and kind.
- Be sincere and give your best effort in every activity.
Youth Club members help at major Samaj events — Navratri Garba, the annual Diwali dinner, and Diwali Annakoot — and plan events and volunteer projects of their own through the year.
