Elections 2026
The 2026 election of the Board of Directors will be held at the Annual Dinner on Saturday, December 5, 2026. All nine (9) Board of Directors positions are up for election this year.
Nominations

Nominees must be a life or annual member of Gujarati Samaj of the Capital District. If elected, nominees agree to become a life member before December 31, 2026, and to adhere to the Constitution/By-laws of the organization.

Proposition 2026-1 — Staggered Board Elections
At the 2026 election, the General Body will also vote on Proposition 2026-1, Constitutional Amendment No. 1 (Staggered Board Elections). In brief, it would:
- Hold elections annually on the date of the Annual Dinner, announced by September 1;
- Divide the nine Board positions into two groups elected in alternating years — Group-1 (4 members) in even years from 2028, Group-2 (5 members) in odd years from 2029;
- Keep two-year terms; the 2026 election elects all nine as a one-time transition.
